Brazilian Virgin Hair Vs Brazilian Remy Hair: What Really Is The Difference
Brazilian Virgin Hair Vs Brazilian Remy Hair: What Really Is The Difference
The demand for human virgin hair has gone global over the years, women of all continents have imbibed the culture of taking beauty to another level by installing different variations of human hair on their heads. The use of human hair can be dated back to the 1700s and have been used for several reasons like; baldness as a result of age, alopecia, a sign of royalty, and other reasons.
The increasing demand for these weave extensions has affected the price directly, as they cost a lot of money on the market. Amongst all kind of human hair extensions, the most popular is the Brazilian virgin hair.
It comes in different strand lengths, textures, and forms; there are two types of Brazillian hair extensions; Brazillian virgin hair and Brazillian Remy hair. Both variations are usually mistaken for one another by the public, however, this article would throw more light on the differences between them based on a few specialized areas.
Method Of Collection
The method of collection of either one of the Brazilian human extension variations differ in the following ways;
Brazilian Virgin Hair: Brazilian virgin hair as the name implies is a hair extension that has been untouched. It has not been altered by harsh chemical products, hair dyes, perms or bleached. This variation of virgin hair is collected from a single donor and doesn't require any alteration.
Brazilian Remy Hair: Even though this variation is also regarded as a “virgin” hair, most of the time it isn't. This variation of hair might have been altered by chemical products, and are collected from a donor tied in a ponytail to ensure the cuticle moves in the natural direction.
Texture
The texture of both variations of Brazilian virgin hair is as important, as the cost of each.
Brazilian Virgin hair typically has a single texture as it comes from a single donor. The cuticle of the hair is well aligned and doesn't require further alterations.
Brazilian Remy hair also has a nice texture and have their cuticles running in the same direction, which makes it even more durable.
Cost
As for the cost difference in both variations, the Brazilian Remy hair takes the prize. The Brazilian Remy hair has all its cuticles flowing in the natural direction, which prevents it from breaking excessively and matting.
This also makes it, even more, silkier and easy to manage.
Durability
While both variations are made of 100% virgin hair, Remy's hair lasts relatively longer. Its silky texture prevents breakage allowing it to last longer while being styled naturally.
The Virgin Hair is natural as well, however, over time, it can start to wear out after maximum usage.
It is important to note that not all Virgin hair is Remy hair, and not all Remy hair is virgin hair. The term “Remy” specifically refers to the manufacturing process which entails making sure all cuticles are aligned. There other virgin hair variations that have multiple textures, and have to be treated in acid baths, and silicone to give a shiny exterior. These are not durable and will make you regret purchasing a human remy hair.
